List of United States senators from Michigan

Current delegation

Michigan was admitted to the Union on January 26, 1837. Its current U.S. senators are Democrats Debbie Stabenow and Gary Peters. Carl Levin was Michigan's longest-serving senator (1979–2015). Four Michigan senators have risen to the position of President pro tempore, and one (Thomas W. Ferry) served as President of the Senate from November 22, 1875 to March 3, 1877 (as acting Vice President of the United States).[1]
