The White Shoal Light is a lighthouse located 20 miles (32 km) west of the Mackinac Bridge in Lake Michigan. It is an active aid to navigation. It is also the tallest lighthouse on the Great Lakes.

Located in Emmet County, this light, built in 1910, is about 20 miles west of the Mackinac Bridge. It has a concrete base and is topped by a low fence border. Two cranes stand near the base of the light, and a narrow band of windows peer out from just above the square, red base of the tower. Only visible from a boat.

White Shoal Lighthouse Waugoshance Lighthouse was established in 1851 to help mark the entrance to Lake Michigan from the Straits of Mackinac, but navigational hazards lurked unseen in the waters north of the lighthouse.

Dennis Kent has provided some history on this lighthouse. When it was built, White Shoal light was considered an engineering feat because to the isolation of its location. Originally lit in 1910 with a Second Order Fresnel lens it was in a better location and enabled the abandonment of the near by and limited Waugoshance Shoal Light.
