The Grimsby Chums was a British First World War Pals battalion of Kitchener's Army raised in and around the town of Grimsby in Lincolnshire in 1914. The Grimsby Chums (10th Battalion, Lincolnshire Regiment) was formed in Grimsby on 9th September 1914. They adopted their own numbering system with numbers prefixed by 10/. Nixon's site tells us that number 10/94 joined on 17/09/1914 and number 10/619 joined on 05/10/1914 and so forth.

The Lincolnshire Echo reported a wounded list on 5th August 1916 which includes 368 Buttle as well as a large number of other 10th Lincs (Grimsby Chums) Battalion men (snippet shown below). The wounded lists were typically printed 4 to 5 weeks after the event, so 1st July would fit.
